I believe the most effective communicator/preacher of the gospel is one who can live with and touch his or her audience on a day by day basis.
When I was a youth minister in Laos. one of the many countries the restricts the sharing of the gospel. This truth was tattooed in my heart forever.
For several months we had been working with a college student name Kai.We've tried giving her a bible, a gospel movie cd, worship songs album, inviting her to church, praying for her etc.although she had heard the gospel message a lot of times , she continued to resist giving her life to Christ (It was 6 months of "hide seek").
One night a sister in the church shared her testimony concerning her problems with family. She started asking there must be something with these people in this group? Why are they joyful and happy? why are they so honest with their feelings? the have shown her real concern and affection. What she saw was more than just a church, its a family of real people who's just like her hungry for real relationships.

After that, we tried to lessen in our bombarding her with many religious/biblical lessons. The same sister who made the testimony and continued to just pray for her and spend time.Go out, eat lunch, play bowling and invite her everytime we go out with our friends from the Philippines (STM).
After almost half a year, It was she who willingly volunteered herself to be discipled and to join our water baptism and Biblical Foundation classes. It was she who initiated in joining the church and inviting us out.
I will never forget what happened next, She started inviting her friends and sharing to us her heart to reach out to her classmates. One time she introduced friend Dee to me and just last month he too gave his life to Jesus and decided to be baptized just his month.
When you attend a dance number or a basketball game or sit in the home of one who is working through a family crisis, it puts your message in anentirely new light. I can name a number of students who gave their lives to Christ without me opening the bible to them first.
For those you have touched with your life, your message is clearer and more personal than ever before. It makes you more than just the man or woman who gives a talk every week. It makes you a minister, a true communicator of a beautiful message.also let them know that we are all a work in progress desperately relying in the grace of God.
I am not impressed by fancy programs and articulated speakers (yes, i'm entertained). God message is so powerful and has been changing me because of the lives touched by the love of Christ as it is demonstrated in the loves of men and women I am surrounded with.
Likewise , the teachers and speakers who had great influenced on me were those who touched me by their lives.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." -Matthew 5:16
